Yesterday I was invited into a large family medicine office in my area. They have 4 MDs, 6 PA and about 25 employees. This was the first time that I met with these MDs and PAs, however I have seen many of their patients for chiropractic care. They were not referred by this group, but these MDs were their primary care providers. I have written an extensive consultation in the members section from beginning to end and what types of questions and what responses I gave. This is critical information because it doesn't really change from MD to MD, but you need to be on top of it!
I shared some good chiropractic research including the recent study comparing spinal manipulation vs microdiscectomy. They were really impressed and now I will be visiting them twice per month to drop off the bimonthly research reviews.
I have another meeting tomorrow with a group of 25 and will follow the same template which I have used over the last 14 years, it works. The interesting thing about all these meetings is NEVER once have I been asked what technique I use! For more information on how to discuss care with MDs, please call me at 716-228-3847.
Respectfully,
William J Owens Jr DC DAAMLP
